    Detecting QuickTime

    Hello;

    I've been able to detect whether QuickTime moviews (.mov) will play and then the user does not have to install QuickTime. The problem is I am having the user run QuickTime in their browser so I need to detect whether the QuickTime Plug in for Internet Explorer and Netscape is installed.
    Any suggestions?

    I ran across this problem while using a laptop that has QuickTime installed but not the plug in for IE.

    Re: Detecting QuickTime

    Hi,

    On Project -> Settings you could try checking the "Initialize %QTVersion%" checkbox. This will initialize %QTVersion% when your menu starts.

    From the Help File:
    Initialize %QTVersion%
    This initializes %QTVersion% variable to the version of QuickTime that the user has on their system at runtime.
