Looking for outstanding examples or demos of what AutoPlay Media Studio 5+ can do. I would think that a few would be offered to view as examples on the main website (i.e. help sell product), but I have been looking and still have not found any. Any out there for public examination?

Hi. Yes the built in template gallery has a whole bunch of working templates which demonstrate a few valuable capabilities of AMS. Plus you can edit and use them for your own projects. In terms of demonstrating some key features we find the built in templates work very well for most prospective buyers.

We also have this page where you can click on the pop-up link in the paragraph and get a nice list of ideas:

http://www.indigorose.com/ams/some_uses.php

Also you can download several project files at http://www.autorun.org as well.

Additionally we will be realeasing a line of professionally designed, ready-to-use commerical project templates soon too. Verry affordable and easy-to-use.

In terms of advanced finished projects, people tend not to post them for others since they have time invested in them and/or for reasons of privacy. Often it is their clients who own the finished projects and so posting them to the web would be un-doable. Similarly it would be unfeasible for us to create a series of extended projects for download, but I can tell you that we did put lots of time and thought into building the template gallery in AMS 5.0 so that you would at least be able to get a first hand look at some of the functionality and have some good jumping-off points for your own projects. Hope that helps. :)

If I can add from the stand point of a current customer of the Autoplay Media Studio 5 Pro version...

I would look at it this way.. what can't you do with AMS 5.0 Pro/Deluxe.

Hundreds of Action Scripts with a easy to use Action Scripting Engine interface (there is a nice list of all the Action Scripts and you just click on the one you want. Like Dialog.Message to create a Dialog Box!)

The next big deal in AMS 5 Pro/Deluxe that I saw was the ability not only to build projects that work off of a CD-ROM (DVD) platform, but also from a .exe stand point! What does that mean? Well, that is big news to me. I can make applications quasi like in C++ for example. Though I do not have to learn 2 years of programming.

And...

They just put out Plug-ins for Encryption (several formats to accommodate your needs), SQLite (database, oh ya), FTP, and several others.

Don't forget that you get excellent support. I mean that!

These guys/gals will bend over backwards (Corey is a rep if you missed that) to get your problem solved or to point you into the right direction.

Sorry if I ramble... but this is the CD autorun (and now .exe!) program to use!

Disclaimer: I receive no compensation from I.R. for my post, via any means--it's from the 'heart'

Finally...

If this product was just another run of the mill sort of application I am comfortable when I say that I do not believe portions of the U.S. government, Blue Chip companies, etc. etc. would use such in their organizations.

Hope to see you around in the forums!

As a novice I agree with bobbyb, but indeed, there are a lot of examples available for public examination. I found the autorun.org site (but was suspicious: Is this a IR supported site, or…). The Calculator demo convinced me: AMS5 can do more than “Ted Sellers” presentations (but what a nice way to have an introduction to AMS5!). But still I should like to have more examples of “not a presentation” projects.

I feel that Intrigued (the Enlightened Member) tells the truth. I had to buy this product, no doubt.

My problem is my own creativity. What should be the purpose of my own AMS5 project? Probably I am interested in the SQLLite Plugin (I should like to have a look at the source of the Demo.exe).

Some day I hope to find a good idea for my AMS5 project. Like when I; at last; got a good Help Authoring System, it has become a new source of income.

In the meantime I visit the forum. Reads about problems and solutions, downloads APZs. Thank you all contributors! :D

I have used Setup Factory for years, that’s why I have confidence in IR Corp and their products and support.

Hi. Thanks for the kind words. :)

Yes, autorun.org is maintained by us, you'll see in the page footers there, "This site copyright ©2004 Indigo Rose Software" with a link which leads back to this site. :)

Thank you for the insight and quick response. I will take a deeper look at your suggestions and start using the trial version to get a better feel. Something like what I saw on the MovieWorks Deluxe website was what I was thinking might be of value to new potential clients. They have a great demo section showing many of the capabilities and features all in one place. Thought having a simple clean link to demos for AutoPlay would be of help in selling the product.

Thanks for the great suggestion! :) It's much easier to place video sample online than .exe samples. We looked at this from all angles and concluded that it would be best to place then inside the product itself given the nature of the built .exes.

However I think your point is valid and I will look into placing some screencaps of the sample applications online so at least people can see them, and then they can download the trial if they find the screencaps interesting enough. It's a compromise but better than nothing. :)

Another way would be to capture (camtasia or similar) a walkthrough of the built app and publish it as flash or mov/wmv file.
If you would set a frame of specs, like dimension, frame rate, length of clip etc, that would set a standard we could all apply by.

That's a great idea Yossi! Let me discuss that with the powers that be and see if it fits into the schedule. :)

ok.
Although I am sure you"ll get a lot of responses from us, the users (both because of our will to pitch in and, also, as a way to advertise our professional level), you could maybe add some incentive, adds or prize/competition etc...
Could be a win/win situation.

I bought this program to make Basic CD-ROMs. I soon learned that it goes WAY beyond that...yet...it is still as easy to make basic (or complex) CD-ROMs.

I'm now making full-fledged solutions (.exe's) in AMS with reletively complex functions. I've demoed Borland, I own VisualBasic.NET and am learning C#.

So far, AMS is the only seemingly true "Object-Oriented" IDE out on the market. That it is used to create CD-ROMs is fluff and actually kinda funny to me.

AMS 4 = "Cool"

AMS 5 = "Unstoppable Power"

Take it from me, if you want to make an operating system or game...and have lots of time, use "C".

If you want to make any sort of CD-ROM, Kiosk, or medium-sized application...and need it tomorrow...use AMS 5.

I'm not selling the product...I'm using it. Try the demo and see for yourself. I've tried just about every demo out there and NOTHING comes close...not even RealBasic (which isn't...lol).
