I am creating a CD-Rom that simply plays an AVI. The AVI's codec is Cinepak. Everything seems to work great on all the machines I have tried. When I distribute this CD, is there any system requirements that I should have printed on the disk?
Thanks in advance,
Ryan
Hi,
If you are using the CINEPAK codec then the only system requirements are that the user have Windows 95A or higher. I believe that the CINEPAK codec has been native to Windows since then.
The best way to test this would be us try it on a "virgin" Windows 95A machine. If it works there you can pretty much guarantee that it will work anywhere.
Also keep in mind that there are the system requirements for the AutoPlay Menu Studio 3.0 design environment:
AutoPlay Menu Studio Runtime
- Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, 2000, ME, XP
- 486 processor
- 8 MB RAM
- 640x480 SVGA display
- Video card set to 8 bit 256 color or greater (recommended)
- Sound card (recommended)
- Mouse
- 2 MB free hard drive space
These requirements are so minimal that you probably do not have to worry about mentioning them.
mark.
