Due to public demand we have abstracted a plan for a new script hosting service but we would like to hear your thoughts on it first so we can fine tune our strategy to best meet your needs.

OK so the idea, in a nutshell, is that we will host a package of prebuilt CGI scripts which users can have full access to for a couple dollars per month. So for example bruce's email problems would be solved and he would only get one email per click instead of "four". :)

Of course the emailer script is just one out of the whole package, and perhaps too simple to indicate the overall value of the script package. The full package consists of an entire set of scripts which allow you to easily setup things like emailers, full shopping carts, anti-leech protection, download counters, click trackers, guestbooks, message boards, etc. and they work both for both AMS projects as well as web sites. Since we host them, you don't need anything to use them, just add the link to your project or web site and, "Whoomp there it is."

We write, service, support, and maintain the scripts so no headaches for you, just good ol' 24/7 reliabilty and speed. New scripts will be added to the package occasionally, without extra cost to existing users. Prepaid packages will be available for very cheap. Bottom line, inexpensive, super easy to use, reliable. You don't need any PHP experience now to leverage the full power of PHP in your projects and web sites, just use the links we provide you and everything works perfectly like clockwork, and if there's ever any script issues, we fix them promptly at no cost to our users.

Ok so let us have it, any thoughts you have please. Good, bad, ugly, or otherwise.

Sounds very attractive!

Comment on this part below (quote):

...full shopping carts...

If you throw in CD-ROM production (with silk screen printing on such media) and undercut the competition on such... I would personally be very interested in your services in that endeavor! I am willing to pay a premium in order for another company to handle the 'back end', such as, SSL ordering, Shopping Cart, Scripts, etc. etc... Ticket is finding that pricing scheme (and service) that will meet and preferably beat the competition.

Then I just design and bring to production my projects and then literally plug IR's "back end" into my "front end" web site. I know there are others doing this in the industry... I want to know if IR can beat their prices, service (and of course make a buck for themselves) to boot.

Note: I have one company in mind already and have checked their service, the company's they have on board (blue chips, etc.).

It's all still prelimnary, we won't be online with this for a bit yet. One thing I can guarantee though is longevity. We've been around a shockingly long time for a tech company and the future's solid. As you notice we don't go off on crazy tangents or trend chasing, we just play the middle of the rink but we play it hard. So in the long run that's a good thing, at least you know that whatever you link to today will still be there in 5 years or whatever.

That being said, I will definitely add a script for CD Protection when this thing flies. Great idea. Not hard to do either, you can upload your own serial lists to an encrypted gateway and the script can verify/log things as needed. Great idea intrigued, this one's all you, never even occured to me but I will definitely use that idea.

Just a note shopping cart and transaction processing are different scripts. The issue gets a bit more complicated if our script is actually meant to "collect your cash" but as a gateway to your cart it would be perfect. For example I think I will build a front end for it which interfaces directly into the share-it system, that's free to sign up for. We use it for our cart, works great, very reliable.

Also PayPal would be easy to integrate and it's a very useful service. Anyhow the bottom line is exactly as you said, keeping the price feasible, and focusing on user relevance. You can count on us for that for sure, we don't mess around when it comes to taking your business seriously. We realize that these scripts carry your reputation and livelyhood, so you can bet we'll do it the right way no matter what.

Thanks for the thoughtful post Intrigued.

Keep the script suggestions coming BTW everyone, as you can see we're still planning the menu, so anything you mention now has a good chance of running the gauntlet.
