I was wondering if, in APMS, there is a way to copy a folder or file to the hard drive and execute it from there. Normally, I wouldn't need to, but one of the programs I use for diagnosing people computers won't run properly from the CD. If I could copy it over and execute it from there all in one fell swoop, that would be perfect. Right now, to work around it, I'm opening up the folder that it's in, copying that folder over to the hard drive, then manually executing it. But I'd like to find an easier way. I considered using SF, but that's more than I really need. I would appreciate any help you could give me, thanks.

Not sure if this would help...but you could try using a shortcut to run the program from the CD and set the working directory to a folder on the hard drive.

That's kind of a long shot, though. I'm sure someone more familiar with AMS will have a better suggestion for you...

The problem is that it automatically writes data to the "backup" folder in the same directory it's run from. There's no way around it. If it's not run from a hard drive, it will error out because it can't make the backups it wants to. Plus, I believe the working directory has to be the folder you're running the program from, otherwise it will definitely error out.

Never mind, I just found what I was looking for in another thread. If anyone else is interested, it's at http://www.indigorose.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000488.html
