Swankers! Just FYI though, Paul Schrofel did the Liquid Cab music. He's a *real* musician, I'm not even qualified to hold Paul's coffee. :) Good selection of tune, Paul told me in an email once that's one of his faves. Can't remember the title right now, could it have been, "For you Mupe"? Anyhow, stupid memory...
Great work! Tip if you want it:
To make a vocal really "sit" on the mix try using your EQ to notch a slot for it in the audio track. So for example, try cutting the mids slightly on your audio track and boosting them slightly on the vocal track, this ought to allow you to drop the vocal volume a tiny bit in the mix *but* it should stand out better. This is a very simplified version of it but you get the point, the key concept being that if your background music has a lot of presence in the same frequency ranges as the vocal track, they will fight each other for that space, but if it doesn't, they'll lock together like leggos.
That being said I thought your sample was very clear, Ididn't have any trouble understanding him at all. Nice work! You da man!
Looks cold. Man we were at +10 C for like 2 weeks straight and then *boom* suddenly the weather goes south this weekend and we're looking at -39 C this week. Crud. The cat's depressed, he's gone into mass sleep mode for now... On the upside though the landlord had a plumber come install a nice humidifier on our furnace today so at least this place won't be so dang dry in this cold air, it's been so dry my acoustic guitar has been buzzing at the frets like an electric shaver...
