What's stopping me?

Hello all,

Just wondered if anybody has any idea what my problem is :p (no not that)...

Recently bought myself a laptop and a wireless modem/router for use on my adsl connection. Had to resolve a number of issues but one of the outstanding ones is the fact that I can't post/preview/pm in this forum whereas I can in my ISP's forum - ( I'm doing this at work where I don't have a problem.)

Had to forward port 25 to get smtp working and I wondered if this might be a similar problem. Any Ideas? I won't be able to reply at all but will appreciate any pointers.

This may be unrelated but I had a problem where the system time on my PC was set in the past and I couldn't access this forum? Check the router time and your pc's time.

Next thing woudl be to turn of the firewall and see what happens?

Thanks for the pointer - I'm certain that's it - at the moment I'm waiting for a replacement modem/router, one of the insoluble probs being that it won't update the system settings currently 4th January 2002.

That was it. I managed finally to install the firmware in my Belkin router (wot a nightmare ) and it has now correctly updated itself to 2004.
