I tried to download the patch through LiveUpdate, but the result was only “Failed to download file from Web. (#50, Line 3)”. I had to use the link on the corporate site, Patches & Updates. (The corporate site tells “The current release of Setup Factory is v6.0.1.2. It has been available since September 23, 2002.” The page with the download link says “v6.0.1.3 Update”.)

OK, we have fixed that problem as of 11/17/2003. Please re-try the update from within the product and it should work fine now.

Bonjour messieurs ;-)

Just tried to get the 6.0.1.3 update and it doesn't work (neither by TrueUpdate or by the IndigoRose website).

With TrueUpdate, I get the following error :

Failed to download file from Web. (#99, Line 4)

I send you in attachment the website's response when I try to download the update.

Thanks !

<first edit : I don't think my Internet settings are wrong, since I've already downloaded other products from your website.>

Hi. I am also unable to download the update either from inside the program or from your web site. How can I get it?

Thanks.

Could you describe what exact error messages are displayed when you attempt inside the product and directly from the Web.

What browser are you using when you go through the Web to get the download, IE?

I'm using IE 6. Attached find a screenshot of the result of clicking on the link from your web page.

Edited to add: it looks like the "route.php" thing is sending me somewhere but I don't know where.

Must be your firewall and/or proxy, that page hasn't been down at all for quite some time as far as I know.

We don't have any problems with any other pages on the internet. If you think it is a firewall problem, could you tell me what ports I need to open on the firewall to get the download?

Not sure Derek, all I can tell you is that the link you posted is definitely online and accessible via the internet in a web browser. Maybe it's your ISP, hard to say... If you can't get the patch via web, just email support@indigorose.com, they'll help you out... :)

Ok, a previous poster in this thread posted a screen shot of a failed download from:

http://highspeed1.movedigital.com:8080/badfs/badbal?secretcode= ...

From that I deduced that I had to open port 8080 on our company firewall to download the update. This did in fact work.

Firewalls and any other safety guards may “protect us from ourselves”. When I tried the “Check for Update” function 11-15-03, I had Norton Internet Security 2002 installed. Due to a TrueUpdate malfunction, I could not perform the download (now corrected). The download could be done through the link given by Corey.

Later on I have upgraded to Norton Internet Security 2004. This firewall blocked all the contents on Indigo Rose Forums. This was done by the Ad Blocking function which has a default configuration with HTML string “adid=”. You can easily configure NIS 2004 to permit this string on IndigoRose.com.

Due to Coreys answer 11-24-03 – “Must be your firewall and/or proxy…” – I tried the “Check for Update” function today (with Norton Internet Security 2004). And what happened? After several Low Risk Warnings telling me that Update.exe tried to access the Internet (I accepted this by creating a rule), a download started - 4.294.967.295 bytes in total. I don’t want having a copy of all of the Indigo Rose web pages – I pressed Cancel and received the message “You already have the most recent version of Setup Factory”.

Next try: A download of 1.08 MB started. Probably this action downloaded TUCLIENTSETUP.EXE to C:\Documents and Settings\... which in turn installed a new TrueUpdate Client ver 1.0.0.8 in the SUF directory (file date 11-21-03). Now the “Check for Update” function works as it should. I have no problems (with NIS 2004) when downloading from the download page.

Of course Indigo Rose cannot support every kind of firewalls and proxy servers. I give this information because the “Check for Update” started a “rather huge download” (something wrong with “Check for Update” – or a Symantec problem?), and to help other users with Norton Internet Security 2004 (the Ad Blocking).
