Every time I select a file from my system the folders are not in alpha order. I cannot figure what order they are in. No where else in the program do the programs appear in this order. All othera are alpha order.
?Is there a setting to arrange them in alpha order. If not what order are they in? Knowing this would make it easier for me to search my system for files.
Thanx
Colin

Could you please post more information on this, such as where/when it occurs?

Ok, I go into the software and add an image, on the image properties screen I select under object, a file.
Then the select file screen opens and I am given three tabs
Gallery - System - Project
Under the System tab I select My Computer,
I then select the C Drive
Normally under this option I am given all of the folders on that drive and they are listed in alpha order. When I do this in AMS 5 they are not in any kind of order I can figure out. It is definitely not alpha.
Everywhere else when I am given a system option or when I look at my C drive, the folders are in alpha order.
Let me know if this is enough information.

Yes, I also wondered about this convention.
I have set Windows Explorer to list by Modified date in reverse, so the most recent file is always at the top of the file listing.
However, APMS5 doesn't seem to follow this convention... so the most recent .btn or .png I have created and saved to my HDD is listed at the end of the file list from within APMS5.
This has taken some getting used to because it doesn't strictly follow default Windows conventions.
Perhaps there is a reason? Or a way of modifying it that I haven't yet discovered?

What view are you guys looking at the files in inside the product (List, Small Icon, Details, etc...)?
Can you capture a screenshot and post it here? I have never observed this behavior or had it posted before. WHat OS are you on?

They're talking about the file browser, which is in all programs and no, I don' t think you can control this in individual programs. Some remember your settings and some don't. May be a registry setting, but I have no idea.
You can easily alphabetize by right-clicking in the window (Not on a file or folder) and selecting "Arrange Icons by..." and select "name" for example to get your alpha list. But, that's the extent that I know of. Kind of tedious at times, but it works.

I went in and tried to sort the folders and it does not give me an option. I have included two screen shots to show what I am being presented which I assume everyone is getting.
I went in to AMS 4 on the same computer and placed an image and was presented with the folders in alpha order. It does give me the option to order the folders which AMS 5 does not.

What if you right-click and go to View > Details. Then you can sort by the different columns.

Brett,
On one of my previous screen captures I have the screen that I get when I right click, it does not give me an option to sort. Again it does when I right click at the same place in 4.
Hope this helps

I know that there is no sort option when you right-click. Please note that this is NOT the same control as in AMS40. Again, right-Click and choose View > Details and then you will see columns at the top of the control that you can click on to sort by.

Brett, Thanx for hanging in there, like most things it was so obvious that I over looked it. Your help was appreciated.
