We've developed an interface/media player for DivX 5.1 video.
The videos are 640x480 25fps, compressed to premium quality.
The results of testing this interface across four Windows Xp platforms are interesting. All have DirextX9 installed.
P4 3Ghz system: Videos play fine. APMS5 interface fine. No issues.
P4 1.7Ghz notebook: Videos play fine. APMS5 interface fine. No issues.
Celeron 2 Ghz desktop: Integraged graphics. When browsing pages in the APMS5 interface, the full-screen temporarily goes black. Plays fine otherwise.
Celeron 1.7Ghz desktop: Integraged graphics. Lip sync problems where the audio doesn't match the video. This issue is interesting because the video plays fine when played directly from Windows Media Player 9
P4 2.4Ghz Desktop: Videos play fine. APMS5 interface fine. No issues.
Hope this testing info is useful.
Regards,
John
PS Should you need it, I can FTP the project with or without a video. (We've currently inserted only three such videos into the project).
