If I click on my homepage on my profile, it defaults me to the IR main web.

That means your link leads to a non-existent page on our site (our server bounces 404's to front page), double check it again, make sure it says http://www.yourlnk.com.

Maybe they're trying to make it so admin can do local links, etc. Plop...
