What is the "Client Update File"

I was runnig TrueUpdate in debug mode, and noticed that TrueUpdate tried to download a "client update file" (clientupdate.ini)

What purpose has this file? And can i use/modify it?

That is an undocumented feature that allows the updating of the actual Update.exe client before the update process begins. This was put in to allow someone to update the client.exe ahead of time in case it was fatally broken for some reason.

Practically speaking, this feature is not needed since we have never experienced that kind of problem with the client executable.
