Hello everyone, again,
Is it possible to create a link on your autoplay menu that when you click on the button, it Will change your screen resolution to what you set it as?
thanks again,
Chip
chipzoller,
There is no action supported by Autoplay menu studio to perform this function. There are utilities out there that can change the users resolution. You can detect the users resolution in AutoPlay menu studio with variables though. Good Luck
does anyone know of any good ones????

Hi Adam & All,
Thank you for your reply to this. I am trying (fixing to try) out AniRez and seeing how that makes a difference. I am not clear at all on how to use Variables/reading/modifying ini/registry and etc. functions. I took a look at the tutorials but that doesn't explain it very well.
Any quick guide anyone can provide me?
sorry to sound so ignorant, don't bash me too hard : )

as far as quick guides, IR is offering their tutorial for sale. looks very good. I consider myself an above avg user on this menu, i learned it all out by trial and error. If you get stuck on a certain spot, leave a note here, and we'll help u out. Also take a look at the templates they provide. They always help. U can have two instances of autoplay open at one time. One for yours, and one for the templates. It helps out.
BTW - anirez works pretty sweet. I have anirez start my menu first. that way i know it will ALWAYS be one size. If the user clicks on my menu first instead of anirez, it gives them an error message bout screensize.

I'm burning up my CD right now with AniRez on it. It tested ok and I hope everything goes well.
About Boolean expressions. How do they come into play?
What if I want to let the user click on a certain button, only after they have clicked another button or ran a program?
How does Booleans play into this?
thanks again,

Well gang, i've got another small problem. I used AniRez editor to create the ini file and AniRez demo. I set the resolution so that it changes everything to 1024 X 768.
But when I burned it up, AutoPlay came up then that launched AniRez and I said 'OK' to the Demo box and it still didn't change the screen size. I'm thinking that the object is to launch AniRez BEFORE AutoPLay comes up and to change the screen size then, then after AniRez changes the resolution, it will start up AutoPlay. Am I right? I'm just not doing something right.

As Ed McMahon said to Johnny Carson (at least on SBL version)
U are correct sir...
make sure that your autorun.inf starts anirez first. Then have anirez start autoplay

Now how do I do this?

<Nevermind, I think that I did it right. Someone give me suggestions. After I built the Menue etc., I opened the .inf file and just substituted AniRezDemo.exe for Autorun.exe and put in Autorun.exe in the AniRez Demo editor. Everything seems to work ok, but one small thing. When I do change the resolution and that opens the Autorun.exe, keep in mind i'm testing this out on an 800 X 600, AniRez changes the Res. to 1024 X 768, the windows taskbar is in a wierd position i.e. it gets disconnected from the bottom of the screen. I'm sure this has to do with the orientation change of the screen in relation to the taskbar, but this causes the user to lower the taskbar to the bottom of the screen in a normal position which in turn de-activates the window which would cause the user to click on the Autorun window to activate it then navigate normally.
Any suggestions on how I can simplify this?

I know this is an older topic..
Have installed anirez and have it working, although on some machines it does not center the display... and I am not really happy with the quality of the display if I change the resolution ( the color depth seems to be less and flicker increases ).
On the previous thread.. does anyone have command language which will detect the viewers resolution conditionally executing the anirez.exe if found less than 1024 x 768?
For 98, and 2000.
Would love to see version 4 allow a scale up
to full screen leaving the task bar showing for sound control, then I could design at 800 x 600 and not look so small on larger monitors set at the higher resolutions..
