View Full Version : Playback/action show
I have seen 100's of progreams that are able to play back all your steps to you like a video and i think this would make making demos for others more productive as the user would be able to learn easyer this way, i know we could use some screen captacher software but this is not really the same thing if you did this you could link it in with the undo and redo buttons so when the user downloads the example they have the option to play back or view example from finish. so ams does the actions in like a micro sence playing back in ams what its doing to you and you only need a set point you stop it and carry on with the example where it makes a new playback entry from that point.

lol, you mean like a global macro
id rather not, think of the work that would take, the time, the other things IR could in that time, and all for the sake of automating an example which anyone with even half a brain could understand by reading the code+help file (id like to hand AMS to some lab monkeys and see what they turn up. lol)
automating things like that would just make new users very lazy, the "why read when i can get someone to do it for me" culture would get out of control
the only real use i see for that is setting up a project template, but we already have a template system so what's the point, id rather see new objects and action sets, function folding in the script editor, window handles from all objects, ActiveX support ..... the list continues
if the written word cant be understood, or a screen cap/video is not enough then i suggest that user go back to WOW and leave the programming stuff to those that are able, automating an example makes the user learn nothing
take TG_Tiggers SQLite videos, i learned so much from them, a simple and clear description of what's going on and what each line of code is doing, at the end of a video i actually learned something, a macro can't do that
i dident learn what i know by someone telling me, i consider myself quite proficient with PB and iv never even made a post over there, just reading other peoples source was all i needed to get going, my very early days at this forum i asked for some help, within months i was giving help by the bucket load, only because i took the time to read, read and read some more
i just wish i could muster the same enthusiasm to learn C++, lol

Fair point lol but i was more thinking a step by step video that would also micro the project so if someone was watching the video it be also making the
app, it was just a idea :) i seen a few programs in the past with this kind of stageing before and it was a nice function but i guess it would be a lot of work. But ya i guess it would make some people just lazy :D
