Hello,
I am part of a team called == The X-Con Team ==. We created an Anti-Spyware program that has been around since 2006. It is called X-Con Spyware Destroyer. http://www.x-conspywaredestroyer.com

As you probably know the malware business is a tough thing to keep up with. And, at present the fight is against rootkits. As it is (AMS 7.5) does not allow our program to see hidden registry keys, files or folders. So, we need an advanced plug-in developer to build us some type of a plugin to make this possible. We eventually need other plugins too, but let's start with this one. Please reply to my personal email at houseofbat@gmail.com
Thanks to those who read this post. Your time is appreciated.

Sincerely,
Todd

I was not aware that registry values could be hidden.

I have a slight suspicion he's advertising.

My guess is that it's really a rights issue. YOu can set permissions on registry entries.

He's looking to hire someone -- he contacted me off the forums.I don't think AMS is best suited for an anti-spyware base; but he seemed genuine to me. I didn't want the gig because I had no problems seeing 'hidden files' with ams/api's and don't feel comfortable writing a service to get around any rights issues to the registry....

Ok, but still, why all the links to his product? :p He could be
asking for help, but he could be advertising too...

Anyhow, I agree on the fact AMS is not a suitable base for anti-spyware
software. I'd be amazed if he got it stable and working propperly.

looks like spam to me also, but disguised as a request for help, maybe its a little bit of both

i am not willing to write a dll that *could cause damage* to a target system, if this guy has already made a "Spyware Destroyer" in AMS then i suggest he already has the know-how to access protected registry keys.

maybe its cosa, maybe its not !
