What would you guys and gals think of getting together and building a nice app that has all available examples in it. These could be sorted by type (Listbox, Paragraph, Flash etc.). It sure would be nice to get everyone's generous of example contributions in one place. It seems that there are so many that they tend to slip through the cracks.

Is this project feasible?
Is this project desirable?

Any thoughts?

Wouldn't it make more sense to make a website where all users can contribute to it. I'd be up for the PHP coding, Someone could buy a domain if they wanted which would help. Otherwise, I could host it on shadiku.com, Which I'll keep renewing. Anyway, Just a thought. I could make categories for each object type, etc.

its a very good idea for novice users, but there is already some good example sites .. do we really need any more

maybe a browseabile archive like PureAreas (http://www.purearea.net/pb/english/index.htm)'s CodeArchive (http://www.purearea.net/pb/CodeArchiv/CodeArchiv.html) for PureBasic.

not much use to myself, but for beginners i think it would be quite helpful

That's the thing though, There are a few. But if we integrate the features of all of them, including a 'ell uva lot of content people will use this one more. I'm working on a site now.

Also, even professionals will want to use it if it has plugins, advanced code and the hard stuff. I'll add Difficulties to the submit form I guess.

That's the initial design, Working on developer blog posts to show up on the home page.

All the pages are using mod_rewrite so the Projects page will be /projects/ instead of ?page=projects. :P

That would be awesome, Can you register indigostudio.com and point the nameservers to ns1283.hostgator.com and ns1284.hostgator.com?

When you've done it, I'll add it to addon domains. You'll get Administrator status on the site when it's done, Which won't take too long. I'll try and pull an all nighter. :P

I've done the developer blog and working on Comments for the blog posts. :yes

After I finish Comments, I'm going to work on the Projects section.

indigostudio.org isn't taken and looks slightly more professional, Same nameservers in my above post.

Thanks :P

Finished the developer blog, added login and register, added comments for blog posts and Moderators/Admins can remove them by pressing the delete icon while logged in.

Working on project directory. (Get the hard part over and done with.) :P

Oh, is this going to have an english version?
Also, yeah.

a domain can only be registered once

it seems the CS's domain points to the server well
in this case you have registered a different domain
or you paid to a reseller who registers domain for you
probably reseller did not register that domain for you
you should get your money back

have you a domain control panel account for that domain

if no ,say good bye to your money :)

I'm going to do lots of backend work on it next weekend, or in the weekend after that. The main functions will be added first ofcourse.

When everything is in, We'll need to upload all the plugins and examples here onto IndigoStudio then run a SQL backup.

And ask permission to the original plugin writers for uploading the plugins/dll's. I'm sure they'll be okay with it, but we should ask anyway :yes

In my case, I certainly prefer that a link is presented to the download location. I make updates to the plugins without assigning new version numbers, to fix stuff or do things differently. I prefer to keep full control over the distribution of my plugins. Screenshots, descriptions and code examples are fine, but please do not host any of my binaries.

Fully understandable. Maybe we should remove the plugin section over there and put in a list of all plugin sites, like yours (mindquake), amsplugins etc etc.

And make a dll/lua section where people can place dll's and lua written action plugins. Ofcourse the example page is very useful aswell.

Just put links then, keep the plugins though.

You'll have to move the nameservers over because my friend failed to pay the hosting fee and it's gonna go down soon. I managed to back it all up, so whereever it goes next, You can ask Imagine Programming for more updated stuff, or me for just the files. I think Imagine has the Schema for SQL.

I can just host it in a sub directory of my hosting account if you guys want. I can create FTP accounts for the both of you so you'll have access to the indigostudio folder. Will that work for you guys?

You'll probably need to give some time for the nameservers to refresh and all that jazz. I can create SQl 4.1 or 5.0 databases. Which type will you need?

I don't know in what version the SQL dump was made in. Shadow?
