can one hotspot call to show another?

if I have a hotspot designated to show the layer 2 screen, can I point hotspot1 to show hotspot2 when a mouseover is done on hotspot1? can't seem to make it work. i can show the layer 2 hotspots as long as they are over the same hotspot.........

thanks

I think the problem is that no one understands the question, it's very hard to follow what you are asking...

Re: can one hotspot call to show another?

let me try to clarify........

I have a hotspot designated on a screen, when you mouseover it the image underneath pops up, all is good

what I want to do is pop up a different image in a different area of the screen (poin the mouseover to a different hotspot)

can one do this?

Re: can one hotspot call to show another?

Sure no problem just attach a PAGE > SHOW OBJECT action (select the correct image from the pull down) to the On Mouse Over event of your hotspot. Add as many of these actions as you like if you want to do more than one image with one mouse over...

Re: can one hotspot call to show another?

thanks Corey but am i doing this correctly

1. define mouseover hotspot1
2.define hotspot2 (when mouseover on HS1)
3. action on hotspot 1 = page show hotspot2 "IsVisible"

no worky for me.......

Oh I thought you meant an image when you said, "what I want to do is pop up a different image in a different area of the screen " but no, I don't know how you can make another hotspot go to mouseover state from another hotsport, sorry...

OK.. Hopefully with my new username, these posts wont disappear
I tried to answer you yesterday, but ran into some problems...
anyway.. as I see understand, heres what you want to do.

Under Attributes in the properties for each hotspot, give each item a name u will recognise easily.

Then set HotSpot2 to be Hidden (Right-Click>Hide)

Then in the actions for HotSpot1, choose On Mouse Over and set it to show the HotSpot2 Object (Page>Show Object)

Remember, if you only want HotSpot2 visible when your mouse is over HotSpot1, you will have to set the On Mouse Leave action for HotSpot1 to hide HotSpot2 also (Page>Hide Object)

Good Luck

No, that will not cause the remote hotspot to display it's mouseover state.

Re: can one hotspot call to show another?

Better Idea....

(One that may work, as i think Corey may be right there :P )
Make a small bmp that is the same as you background, and make sure its at the front in z-axis...
Then use it over the top of you hotspot, to show/hide as u see fit with mouse over, and mouse leave states...
Just keep it on top of you hotspot, then hide it when your other hotspot is moused over, thus (hopefully) showing the hotspot underneath.

just an idea, and an untested one at that

Good luck

Actually you can't stack objects in AMS.
