    simple shop function?

    Hi,
    im more a screendesigner than a good programmer...

    So i think this morrnig about a small simple shopsolution that works in AMS.
    - click a product
    - get a list to check out
    - print it or oder it online

    I do not meen in a HTML Window that works with cgi,php online or offline with javascript.

    Has anywone out there worked with this idea before?

    To place an order online you will need to process it somehow at the very least, and some flavor of CGI will have to come into play, no choice... And if you plan to handle your client's credit card data securely you will need to get them to enter it online on a secure site/server (such as our shopping cart) so that's going to require an HTML window of some kind...

      I guess if you want a print option you could have the client mail it to you.

      4. Check out [Show list of item(s) to be ordered]
      5. Print text file contents
      6. Mail it [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif[/img]</font color=green>

      Or you could email the order

      5. Get contents of text file and add it to email

      Naturally, not a good idea to include credit card details etc. in the email.

        First of all...

        Maybe did not found the wright words tho show what i mean.
        (I am not offen writing in english)

        To get e safe soultution for sending the order is step 2...shurly important...but step two.

        Step one is to get a order [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif[/img]
        I mean a simple scriptexample that let me understand how i have to script further.
        Thats why i wrote more designer then scripter [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif[/img]
        I need the "ping" to start so thats the reason why i post it here and not to "generell discussion" .

        When i got your attention please let me tell you this:

        I think many guys in this Forum are not hot shots like Worm, TJ Tigger and other. I can tell it only in my case but i think there are many good guys out there who need more or less scripted templates to work further.
        In my case i have not so much time an so much talent to script 8 days a week for scripts you woult maybe comment it with: "sweet" ...and a tiny smile [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif[/img]

        So to me its a great idea when Indigo Rose would sell functional templates. I would shurly buy when i can safe much time that i need for the projects and "clients" .
        I believe there are many other customer with the same needs, isnt it?
        You are programmers and to you its quite simple to "think in scripts" but not for all of us here...i think...may im wrong?

        So thats the reason why designers and programmers work together in many companys. Imagine a script from designer or an design from a programmer. [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/blush.gif[/img]

        It would be great to can buy functional templates in the future.

              I don't think it will actually. You know how it is, "all the best laid plans", etc... Other priorities have taken center stage for now. Other training materials will be forthcoming from IR soon though. Thanks for asking, all the best...

                  Well, not the specific one I was working on anyhow, but lots of other training CDs will be coming soon. Don't worry IR will make sure you get what you need very soon one way or the other.
