Monitor a Network Drive on LAN.

Is it possible for an installer to create logs and monitor a network drive on my LAN. The information on our shared drives are confidential and need a continuous monitoring and to check who accessed a folder, track the files that are changed by different users, addressing date and timing and user ids for each modified files.
I know there can be tools for Monitoring Network Drvies, but if i want to create one on my own using some installer tool, any help on how we can do it through SF7 ??? Or any best selected free tool known? :huh
