Hi,
In testing version 8, when a user selects for their desktop the Windows Classic theme in Vista, the status bar when copying files does not work. It shows mostly at 100% all the time. When you disable XP style themes, it is flat, but it still does not gauge the file installation process correctly.
Is there any fix or workaround for this?
Thanks,
Steve

This is similar to a problem I reported with Win2008
The problem isn't that it shows 100% "all the time" -- but it does a bit of "pre-work" which shows a progress bar go 0 to 100% fairly quickly.
The problem is that it doesn't "redraw" the empty progress bar so you "see" it climb from 0% again.
I haven't found a work around for win2008 yet; but IR is aware of it.

Correct... it does "blip" by quickly to 100% and then installs the rest.
I know that many users do not use the thick XP style color borders on their windows. For me they are too colorful and big. So I have always used the Windows Classic theme that is part of Vista and XP.
I hope they can fix it.
Hi stevehal,
We just released an update to Setup Factory 8.0 today (http://www.indigorose.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25400) that should fix the problem.
Once you update everything should work properly again.

Let me know if this fixes your problem -- I'll be testing win2008 later today.

Win2008 works as expected now.
Thanks IR!
