Hi all..

I bet there is a simple answer to this but i cant seem to fathem it out.

I have just made a simple little project to help my mate to install an APP onto his Windows XP.

I am running Windows Vista.

I made the project and tested it as far as i could under Vista.
Burnt the project to CD.The cd runs fine under Vista and does what it should.

I tested the disc in my laptop which is running XP.
Nowt happened,XP only recognised it has a wav file ?????????????? eh...

So i slung the disc back into my Vista machine, all was well, runs has it should.

So where did i go wrong.
Or should i be making projects that are for XP on a machine running XP...

Any ideas.....

Hm, did you burn using APMS or some other program?

Yes i burned using APMS...

mmmmmmmmmm.

The project is saved i will try making a .iso image then burn it using my fav burning APP and see what happens.

I was thinking there is a certain setting which would allow my project to run on any OS.

thanks for the tip...:yes

nope...:huh

Made a .iso image.
Burnt it to CD tested it on my Vista PC... Fine.
Tetsed it on my XP laptop.... uh uh.. Windows only recognises it as a music CD..????????

This puzzles me.
Not just for this particular project but for any future projects i do which might involve them being used on any OS,not just Vista.

For now i will just put the files onto a cd as data and give that disc to him and explain what to do with them.

I just know my project would have impressed him and make me look super cool knowing how to make my own self install discs...
Yes i know i'm sad but hey i don't care..:D

Well dug out my old PC,dusted it off.
Slung in a small HDD installed Windows XP.
Installed APMS and started my small project from scratch.
Burnt it to CD and tested.
Worked a treat.

Still have no idea why the disc made under Vista wouldn't work under XP.
Summet to resolve for another day.

This is a very strange problem. Has anyone else had any problems with this?

Well seems this little problem i have is nothing to do with APMS.

I just downloaded WMP 11 and burnt the file to a cd. finalized the disc.
it works fine on my Vista PC.

but once again my XP laptop does not recognise it..

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

not good...:huh
