Hey IR staff,
You know what be really super neat? Yup, you guessed it...a Completed Plugin Forum where each working plugin can be placed (by IR staff so it wouldn't be cluttered with posts, just links to files) and easily found and downloaded by us users. That would be much easier than searching the forums for hours.
Whudduya think?

Hi Centauri Soldier,
I think it's a pretty good idea. It would really help to funnel forum traffic into more suitable areas and keep plugins around longer so that people don't forget about them.
I'll talk to some people and see if we can come up with something.

Hey fellas. I was just kinda wondering if you guys at IR had made any decisions regarding the Completed Plugin Forum. The more I search, the more really cool plugins, dlls and examples I find laying around the forums collecting dust. I think I have a lot of the ones available but many other users may not yet have them.
Sticky Forum, Sticky Forum! :D
Thanks for readin' IR Staff,
CS.

Thank You For This Forum
Great Support as Always
Hey Guys,
You're very welcome. I was away on holidays when the forum finally went live so I didn't get a chance to post here to let you know, but I'm glad you saw the new forum.
Hopefully this helps makes the forums more usable for "normal" users and plugin creators alike.

Hey Mark, do dll's and lua action script packs (function packs) class as plugings ?
Do you (IR Staff) want users to flag (report) post's that need to be moved to the plugin forum ?
Can we request a "sticky" for the best plugins so thay dont get junked down with questions about plugins ?

Maybe we could tag script packs as (SCRIPT), dlls as (DLL), and plugins as (PLUGIN) and having them stickied when they're done would be ideal if the IR staff felt up to it. Or, the IR staff could make one or two of the senior forum members into moderators of this Plugins Forum and they could sticky the items that have been finished and tested.

Well what do think IR staff? Would you be willing to make one of the good folks here on the forums into a mod for this forum?

Well, it seems that the IR staff have generously given as much as they can as far as this forum goes. You have my sincere thanks IR staff for going out of your way to make this forum for us.
I regret that it is not entirely what I had envisioned when I suggested it but I also understand that you can give only so much control to user groups. The clutter seems to be defeating the purpose I intended but has provided a more focused environment for plugin discussion than the general AMS discussion forum could offer.
As far as posting, sorting and maintaining releases, I have developed a solution. I have put up a user forum that allows user's to post, edit and even delete their own posts as well as post stickies and announcements. It is a user-controlled board specifically designed for what I had thought the plugin forum could be.
I will be adding a link back to the IR Forums in my top menu as my forum is not for tech support or AMS Code discussion but rather for plugins, scripts and dlls designed for use with AutoPlay Media Studio.
Feel free to visit and register here. www.amspublic.com
I look forward to our continued collaboration on AMS addons.
Long live AMS,
Centauri Soldier.

I don't see how another forum helps things. That just makes it even harder for people to find information. It much better if it is here all in one place even if it is a little messy. Others have setup separate forums in the past and they have disappeared along with any posts that were made, so it is much better if it all stays here where we know it will not disappear.

Agreed, i mean thanks for the effort, but it would finding plugins and information about plugins even more difficult.

I see your point but I tend to disagree with "It much better if it is here all in one place even if it is a little messy". As it is, After a few months of searching I am still finding new plugins and dlls that I knew nothing about. They are being buried under hundreds of posts, I just thought it would be nice if a person could go to a "Completed DLLs" Board of the "DLLs" forum and find 30 DLLs in the same spot with descriptions and function lists. The same concept goes for plugins, applications and possibly even examples. It would be much simpler to find by organizing them in this fashion.
I don't see how this would be a bad thing. With some time and contributions to the project, amspublic.com (http://www.amspublic.com) will be an archive for AMS addons. As I said, it is not a tech support forum or AMS code discussion forum. All relevant information related to AMS is still on the IR forums but the applications, dlls, plugins and (maybe) examples will be consolidated and categorized for ease of finding and downloading at amspublic.com (http://www.amspublic.com).

But how will new users even know about it? They will search the AMS forum not knowing there is another forum. Once you start breaking the information up and putting in different places, you have made it very difficult for people to find anything. Much better if it is all in one place. Like I said, it has all been tried before and never worked. The forums all disappeared after a while.
Well that's my opinion. I only want to log into one forum and know that the forum will be there tomorrow.

That just makes it even harder for people to find information
Please check out the front page of the forums. You will see that I have hard-coded links into the forum header for every plugin site of which I am aware. That should help a bit. I'll start adding programs (or links to them) and plugins later in the day or tomorrow.

Alright. I found what I was looking for.

Post History is a feature in vBulletin. It appears the IR staff have disabled it for users or just disabled it.
It would be a good idea if it was turned on, And then we can edit our posts all we want and we can compare versions.
