WHen tu.exe runs from AMS to check and see if an update is needed is it encrypted? I know its going over port 80 HTML to check but is TU encrypted/use an SSL socket layer?

TrueUpdate can use a HTTP/HTTPS connection (with or without authentication), FTP or a mapped folder on your LAN to download the info about the most current version of your product. If you want encryption for this transaction, a HTTPS connection would be the way to go...

AMS's use of it is not encrypted. Typically https is over a different port than http....
