View Full Version : Project won't build in 4.0.0.4

I have a VERY important project that I've been working on for several months. It won't build or preview in 4.0.0.4. I have tested other projects, and they do build just fine. I don't know exactly what makes this one different, but I get a program crash every time AMS tries to build/preview the project.
This project is different from my others in just one way - I have a reference to a dll that Worm created that had to flip the z-order of the incorporated images on the parent page due to the backwards z-order in earlier versions of 4. Could that be the cause of my grief?
Eric,
I just update to 4.0.0.4 and ran a sample app using the Sound Control. I am inheriting the control from a page like the project you sent me did. It works for me. Although, I didn't have to swap the Z-Order around with 4.0.0.4

I don't have the product at home at the moment, but that bug may have been resolved that you were fixing with the DLL. I remember one bug fix about Z-order, however I don't remember the details of it. Make sure that you go through the Readme file that was updated with the patch to see what changes and fixes were applied that may alter the functionality of your current project.

Could these problems have something to do with an incompatibility with the WMP 9.0 control and features I had been using with the 6.4 control? It's a good bit kooky that I changed NOTHING about this project between the last successful build in 4.0.0.3 and upgrading to 4.0.0.4, and then trying the build again.
Error message follows:

Hi Eric,
Did you remove that DLL that was discussed earlier in this thread that changed the Z-order? If not, try that to make sure that is not the problem. Could you describe when this is occurring? Does this occur during the build or preview process, while working in the design environment, or running the application after the build?
