Hi,

I am new to this software and downloaded a trial version. We do have setup files on our website, where our clients download to their computer and run it from there.

Before i install the new version, we need to uninstall the old one from control panel and install it manually from the folder that they have downloaded the software into.

Whereas we want to integrate trueupdate system to our software so if a client clicks on update, it can automaticaly updates the software, without having to go to the website and uninstall the old version.

On the trueupdate trial version i created a project and in the project wizard i selected "Https" for download method, as i thought our website is https://.

In TrueUpdate Server (HTTPS) section, I typed the full address where the setup files are based(1 of them zip other 2 .exe), which ends with htm.

Next one was Upload Method section, which i selected "I will do this myself manually". I am not sure what is this option as i need our clients to download the software not to upload.

For the version verification method i did select other to skip. When i tried to run the TrueUpdateClient.exe to test if the project i created updates. It takes me to welcome screen and when i click on next then it does not give me option to select next and error message on the dialog "Update Error" I dont know what kind of error this is.

I am still not sure how this works. Can anybody help me on this matter please

Thank you

Unless you provide users with a different installer/patch thru TrueUpdate; you should follow the same basic steps as you would do "manually".

On the trueupdate trial version i created a project and in the project wizard i selected "Https" for download method, as i thought our website is https://.

Unless your website IS secure, you should redo the wizard & select http

In TrueUpdate Server (HTTPS) section, I typed the full address where the setup files are based(1 of them zip other 2 .exe), which ends with htm.

This should only be a single server, not an actual file ...

Next one was Upload Method section, which i selected "I will do this myself manually". I am not sure what is this option as i need our clients to download the software not to upload.

This is where you want TrueUpdate to automatically upload it's files; typically this is the server your users will download from.

For the version verification method i did select other to skip.

W/o a way to determine what the version is; it won't be able to know if an update is needed.

When i tried to run the TrueUpdateClient.exe to test if the project i created updates. It takes me to welcome screen and when i click on next then it does not give me option to select next

you click next, but it doesn't allow you to click next?

and error message on the dialog "Update Error" I dont know what kind of error this is.

It means that it can't figure out what you want to do, or it can't access the server you specified, my guess is the later, as your website is probably not secure...
