I went to Fry's Electronics and bought a Western Digital External harddrive.

http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=374

The great part is that the box was mis-marked. The price was missing the first number.

There selling price: $279.99

Printed on tag: $79.99

I noticed this in the checkout line, which was long for a Sunday. Then bought it for $79.99. I was singing all they way out to my car in the parking lot. I just hope I dont have to take it back!

I just discovered MacDrive (http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive/)

If you have a windows and mac, this program is a must.

They must be having a laugh. In Bristol, PCW [who are expensive, anyway] have the same for 199

I bought a Western Digital a while back for my backup.
I moved a lot of good apps and music to it to clear some space on my C: Drive. I moved and didn't copy to it.
About 8 months down the road one of my drives crashed.
Guess which one? Yep... the Western Digital.
I used some recovery programs and was able to get some
stuff back. I lost a huge amount.
I just wanted to let you know, don't depend on the WD to be a drive that wont fail. I am not saying its a bad drive.
Just don't do like I did and think it's never going to fail.
In my case it was the one that did fail and all my other drives are still working fine.

you want cheap goods hit north or east and aviod south and west london... or shop online :D

Irrelavent, but talking of S/W London prices reminds me of one time many moons ago: i saw a jacket in a shop [cant rem which shop] in Tooting for £35 .. the very same jacket in the Croydon branch was £70! When asked why the shop simply replied "cause Tooting is not such a lucrative area" I was shocked - yeah maybe, but twice the price?

thats just A1 typical of london, the more west you go the higher the prices get,

iv lived in shepherds bush for 20+ years and iv watched this place change (most for the worse) but there is a big crunch coming

we are about to get europes biggest shopping mall, its in its final stages and will open next year, this has driven property prices through the roof, my dad purchased his house 20 years ago for 27k its now worth 400k and going up every day, good for him, bad for the rest of us that missed or was to young to catch maggies "right to buy" campaing, a average 3 bed house in west london is going for 500k to 750k

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/property/main.jhtml?xml=/property/2006/10/10/pshepherd11.xml

also this mall will boast 295 stores, but shepherds bush already has a healthy shopping enviorment, dose this mean a serious price war.......god i hope so ;)

ok, seriously off the topic here, try n get this back on track

i hope this brings the price of terra HD's down in west london so i to can get one for 79.99 :yes
