View Full Version : Video won't play properly

I have a project set up with a video file (wmv) to play upon opening a page. The video does not play automatically, or when you press the play button, but if you drag the slider about 80% of the way along, the file suddenly starts playing from that point. One second to early, and nothing happens, but anywhere past there results in the video spontaneously playing from that point on.

This leads me to believe that the video is okay, but that I've done something else wrong, or possibly that the video is just too large. I am getting the message in the editor that the still image could not be captured, but that it will display properly when run. I have exactly the same set up, but with different video files of varying lengths, on 7 pages, and none of them work.

Please help! The videos are my last attempt to get this to work!

You should look at the encoding that was used for the WMV files. The bigger the version number (eg 10, 11) then it is less likely to play on some machines.

- can you run those videos through windows directly? Do they work?
- Does this happen at preview, build or both?
- Have you tried running the CD on any other systems? Does it work anywhere?

I, too, have been experiencing some problems with video playback. Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd just post here.

In my case, the problem occurs in preview and from the burned CD. My videos were rendered as WMV-9 files. They playback fine outside of Autorun Max, both from their file location and on my website.

However, when playing back in Autorun Max, the audio portion will play but the video "freezes" on the first frame. It doesn't play the video, just the audio. This doesn't happen everytime I play back the video. I can click out othe the video, then click back on it, and most times it will then play fine. Well, fine with the exception that the colors don't appear to be accurate compared to the original and some portions become pixelated then clear up.

Any help in resolving this problem would be appreciated.

I bought the Business edition for creating Video business cards, but because of the instability, I can't chance offering this service to paying customers.
