Hello,
I have a problem when downloading the Server Script: always I get the error message
Error An error occurred when trying to download the server file. Server ID: ***: An error occurred while trying to open the HTTP file. (3611)
Error The operation timed out
(3611)
The apache server log shows, that there is no communication between TrueUpdate und the web server.
This happens only with Internet Explorer 6.0 and the proxy configuration option "Automatically detect settings" enabled (Tools - Internet Options - Connections - LAN Settings). With IE 7.0 or when disabling the option, everything works fine. Strangely when using fiddler (a http proxy debugger; http://www.fiddlertool.com/fiddler/), it works too.
Is there a workaround for this problem?
With Kind Regards
Bernhard
Hi Bernhard,
At this point in time there are no known issues with the latest version of TrueUpdate (3.0.1.0) and Internet Explorer 6.0. What version of TrueUpdate are you using? Are you specifying any of the proxy information? Or are you using auto-detect for everything?

Hello Mark,
I'm using the actual version of TrueUpdate (3.0.1.0).
The Internet Explorer 6.0 proxy configuration option "Automatically detect settings" is always enabled (I do not turn it on and off). I can browse any web site (internet and intranet) without a problem.
Meanwhile I have tried the commandline parameter /NOAUTOPROXY. With this parameter everything works fine, but I do not understand how it works.
What is different when this parameter is used? Could this introduce other problems ? (I do not know, whether all users of my TrueUpdate application are using this kind of proxy configuration; some use an explicit proxy other have a direct connection to the internet).
With Kind Regards
Bernhard
Hi Bernhard,
From the help file:
/NOAUTOPROXY
Forces all actions that use HTTP connections in the update not to use the autoproxy feature.
This means that TrueUpdate will not try to use autoproxy in order to determine proxy information. You can take a look at this link (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa383910(VS.85).aspx) for more information on autoproxy.
Have you tried downloading the script manually using the HTTP.Download() action? If you have not already tried a manual download I would suggest doing that and if the download still fails try using the HTTP.GetHTTPErrorInfo() information action to see if there is any additional information available regarding the error.
Please let me know what the results of your tests are and hopefully it will help us get to the bottom of your issue.
If the test continue to fail and you are willing to help us try to debug this issue please send and email containing a reference to this thread and your TrueUpdate 3.0 serial number to: mark@indigorose.com

Hello Mark,
i have done some testing and here are my results:
ApplicationError: 2502 (Application.GetLastError())
HttpErrorInfo (HTTP.GetHTTPErrorInfo())
Number: 12002
Status: 200
Message: The operation timed out
Debugging is not necessary, because it works with the switch /NOAUTOPROXY.
With Kind Regards
Bernhard
