Question
Installing the Microsoft Access Runtime Engine

Answer
This article provides information on redistributing and installing the Microsoft Access runtime engine with Setup Factory 7.0.

Due to the massive complexity of the Microsoft Access runtime engine, Setup Factory does not have a "built-in" runtime module for this technology. However, Microsoft has provided a complete installation routine that you can re-distribute to your users. This installation routine will install a special runtime version of Microsoft Access that will allow your users to view and edit your database, but not to create a database of their own.

In order to distribute the Microsoft Access runtime install you must be a licensed "Office Developer". This means that you have purchased a copy of Microsoft Office Developer Edition. You will find a copy of the Access runtime installation executable on your Office Developer CD-ROM, or on your hard drive in the "\ODETools\V9\Runtime" folder. Include this file on your CD-ROM and then launch it during your installation using an Execute File action.
