I have created a cd that that contains some acrobat files. Acrobat 6 runs from the cd so no installation has to be done. The only problem is that on some computers the error "Unable to load required component 'unicows.dll'" keeps displaying when trying to run Acrobat 6, the program then terminates.

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be as it does not happen on all computers. Could it possibly be if the computer is connected to a network (LAN).

Many Thanks in advance

UnicoWS.DLL is used to do unicode on Win 9.x platforms.

Here's a link:

Here on the western prairies a unicow is a cow with only one wheel. I used to think the high school kids looked so cool riding around on them...

You can download the unicows.dll file from microsoft at:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=73ba7bd7-ed06-4f0d-80a4-2a7eeaee17e2&DisplayLang=en

If you then simply insert the dll into your reader folder on the cd, this should fix your problem for Win98SE and WinME. You should also remember that Acrobat 6 does not run on Win95 or Win98 first edition, so you may want to consider also having Acrobat 5 on the cd as well and have it run if the user is running 95 or 98 first edition.
