Hi, Please can some of you guys help. Every time I log on a process called autorun.exe is running. I stop the process and delete the entry in the ir_tmp folder but it comes back every time I reboot. I have never installed Autoplay Media Studio and do not understand why it is being created all the time. I have searched the registries etc.
Does anyone know what creates this file (ams60??) and how I can get rid of this file from starting on boot up.
Thank you for your help.

As a first step, I would look at your startup folder, commonly - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and also the same folder in C:\Documents and Settings\*YOUR USERNAME*\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. Also run msconfig (Start/Run/msconfig) and see what is on the startup tab, but be careful about what you disable in there.

You can get a more complex overview by using StartupList from HERE (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php). Which is just one of the useful tools available. HiJackThis on the same page also returns a lot of information, but it does need careful interpretation before taking any action.

Autorun.exe is just a 'runtime' file i.e. it enables applications developed in Autoplay Media Studio to run. At some time you will most likely have used an application which was developed by someone using Autplay Media Studio as a development platform.

It is impossible for anyone in the forum to give you a definitive answer I'm afraid.
