Hello everyone,
I found those two flash creations and I taugh it would be too cool to have them for whatever purpose in an app. And it uses XML, to I it can share that data.
But is it a way to interact in two ways?
1. I click on an item in flash and it shows up in the AMS app.
2. I click on something in the AMS app and it shows the associated item in the flash thing.
Here are the two similar flash "things":
http://www.n99creations.com/vieweg.php?id=14
http://www.arno-box.net/flash/14/flash-effet-coverflow-ditunes-v02/ (in french)
Those are Open Source, so if anybody knows Flash, then it might become easier if they are modified? (like to use SQL Lite, MySQL or something similar).
Thanks for your ideas and contributions!

So I just put the coverflow in a project with a list box (for those interested, the FLA is there as well).
What should be done, for a simple exemple (but I dunno how to achieve it) is:
1.Load the XML (which is in "AutoPlay\Flash\Coverflow\XML" note: there are two XML files; the one loaded onshow in the SWF is "albuminfo.xml") into the listbox;
2.Interact between the listbox and the SWF; when I click an item in the listbox, it shows the corresponding image in the Flash object.
So, is it possible and if yes, how?
Thanks a lot for your kind help and participation!

as it happens, that is exactly what i had in mind for this,
i have a mp3 manager project im about 50% done with, it stores id3 data in a sqlite database, now the trick will be writing the xml file with the same album/track info, i do have "some" xml experience with ams and as theres only a few elements to each section it should not be to hard
i will have a mess with your example and see if i can get it to write the xml on the fly from folders of mp3 files.....and move on to the fscommand to load the album tracks into the listbox when the album image is clicked
i will post back...if/when i get somewhere

Cool :)
I'll see on my own for loading, but the other exemple (the one in french) has interaction with the Coverflow via Javascript, so it is possible for this to be done with Lua. It also has a theme system, which can be pretty cool to have in an app :)
But it also needs a simple webserver (I'll search for a very lite Apache one).
I'm happy to see I'm not gonna be alone to search for this :)

well, i think iv bitten off more than i can chew with this one, getting the album info in to the xml file is easy enough....but then what, its ok for visual effect but i want interaction, my sothink swf quicker dose not support the fla file so im gonner download a demo of dreamweaver and see what i can do with that
the other example sounds more "usable" in this case, so i'll take a look at that and see if i have any ideas, id rather program with lua then spend a month learning action script for a single section of my app
as for the webserver, would worms simple webserver example be any good, if so then we can build the server right into the app or dose it need php, if it dose then portableapps.com do a portable version of "XAMPP", i know its not exactly lightweight but if it gets the job done

Maybe you meant Flash instead of Dreamweaver?
Anyway... for the server, it doesn't need PHP. The only need for it is to think the files are on the web, because the Flash file has to acess other files which is prevented by most security settings. But if the SWF is on a server and acess files on the same server, there's no problem.
I'll take a look at Worm's.
On the programming part, I totally follow you, but as I have the Creative Suite, I have Flash as well so I'll take a look a bit deeper to see if there's nothing I can do.

Hello,
@RizlaUK: Sorry, I had not seen there has been replies before.
So happenned the same thing for me; it crashed. But I found some little servers I can use.. that's a start. Yep, there's a lot to learn on that part. I'm a web designer, but not used to flash, so I have to learn as well!
@Jenny: Lol, I had not seen this one, I'm gonna take a look at this. I'll try to get back with something soon. But that seems pretty interesting!

AGRO >> You're right, but not that one. I don't know if there's somewhere.
FoxLeader,
You mean this one here?
http://www.n99creations.com/junk/player.html
You can just go here...http://www.n99creations.com/junk
...and download the files. Then edit the .xml in the XML folder, replace the cover images in the artwork folder, edit the crossdomain.xml. A little work but you can get it working. The files on the site are free. So I would guess this is ok.
