trouble playing flv files

I am having some trouble trying play flv files... can anyone walk me through this. do I have to install a special player????

my other question is can I make an swf file a backround for the project, allowing me to place buttons and other objects on top????

To play .flv files in the flash player you need at least version 7 of the flash player installed on the users computer. There are a few AMS objects that now have a Object.GetProperties, where you you can get the WindowHandle of said object. Here is an example I have on amsuser.com. It's a "workaround" using the On Timer event area and a custom .dll I created for another project:
