I get an error when attempting tp download the actual zip update file.

Log shows:

[10/02/2007 16:13:23] Success Display screen: Update Available
[10/02/2007 16:13:26] Success Display screen: Download File (FTP)
[10/02/2007 16:13:55] Success Run client data event: Client Script
[10/02/2007 16:13:55] Notice Exit update process (Return code: 5)

Error screen shows:
Unable to download file.
Failed to create internet connection.

I have the zip update in the same location as the server script files and they download ok. I even tried this using a normal network share and had pretty much the same issue.

Anyone know what this means and how I can debug the script?
Thanks for your help.

BTW, I'm using the Trial 3.0 version.

Any progress on your problem?
I'm also looking into update software. What other software have you looked at? This place has a lot of posts but seems to be on AutoPlay and not here.

Hi Chl,

It was a syntax problem with the script build. I figured it out about two hours after posting my original message, and now everything works flawlessly.

I even decided to build a second update for another app that we have, and it took me 10 minutes tops!

This app is great, and I've got approval to purchase. I'm just now a little concerned that I'm not seeing much activity here and am unable to get any real world reviews on it. Before I submit the purchase, I'm researching other available products.

To all who read this:
I would appreciate any user reviews of both the product, and the support.
Thanks!

I was also looking into FlashUpdate from http://www.synopsis-software.com/ whose web page has a information about the product. It seems really feature rich but their support forum was down (bad sign).

I'm also evaluating InstallAware who also has an update built into their install program. They have a very active forum. It was not obvious that this product has the update feature because it is not sold separately. http://www.installaware.com/web-updates.htm

Hi unruhly,

The reason that these forums seem so quiet is because with the recent release of TrueUpdate version 3.0 we have started a new forum. If you want to see all of the activity and people that were using TrueUpdate 2.0 take a look at its forum (http://www.indigorose.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=47).

If you are interested in more information on TrueUpdate 3.0 please feel free to ask about it here or take a look at the TrueUpdate 3.0 section of our website (http://www.indigorose.com/trueupdate/).
