Not internally. You may use any external file (Real Media file, etc.) by use of a File.Open function in AMS, but those files will not open within your AMS interface, they will simply launch the registered host application, and launch as they normally would.

Video formats that will play within the AMS 4.0 and later interface are: WMV, ASF, MPEG-1, AVI (so long as the codecs that are utilized are installed on the client computer). Basically, anything that the Windows Media Player can play.

You can use a web object to display real media within AMS but you have to make sure your end user has the real player plug-in instaled.

Yeah, that's true. To be technical, I guess you can use Real media files inside your AMS interface... You just don't get the same kind of control over them that you would have with something playable in the Media Player Object.

You can actually embed the same controls for real media as media player too in a web browser object. You can do it manually or use the available Real Media extension for Dreamweaver from macromedia.com.

Right, but I meant that you cannot address a Real Media Clip with AMS actions in the same way that you can with the Media Player Object.

Ummm, actually you can via javascript... Also Eric there's an even more direct second way you can do that too, and that is via Shockwave via the RealMedia Xtra but I'm sure you knew that...

I didn't know that. All right, so there are ways.

Just to be clear, I'm not reccomending it, just giving facts.
