hello,

I am new to AutoPlay and am excited about it's potential - I have been using Demoshield for about 5 or so years and am switching to Autoplay... I am creating for my company a CBT program for the training department

Is there a sample available with test questions - like a final exam when the student is complete with theTraining ion the website... I need to see how to create the test questions and possibly interface with the LMS or SCorm for scoring -- it would be cool if the AutoPlay development actually did the scoring!

Is it available and possible to get a sample to look at?

Best Regards,

JOhn

Hey John,
I believe that there was a very good example of a quiz over at amsuser, complete with questions and a scoring system...Just do a little digging over that site and I'm sure you'll come across it...

SiniSTer,

First, Thank you all for replying... I appreciate it greatly... SiniSTer... I went to the site you mentioned yet I guess I did not dig enough as you suggested... do you have any idea at least what the Sample may be called - I went through the entire list and nothing remotely resembles this subject!

Best Regards,

John

Bret,

I went to look at the QE Installer.exe from the site TJTigger's site recommended and when launched it asks for a serial number - unfortunately one has to pay the $40 before knowing if it works.... risky business I would say... Too Bad - Sounded like it would have been a good tool If anything else comes to mind - please let me know!

John

Hey John,

You don't need a serial to be able to install the QuizEngine and look at the demo. You will not be able to build quizzes or integrate them into your product if you don't have a serial number. If you have questions you can contact me about the quiz engine. If you want to see a video of how the Quiz Builder works or what a test looks like I can produce one and upload it to my sight.

Let me know if you have questions.

FWIW, if it's coming from TJ_Tigger, I'm confident you will appreciate his knowledge of AMS and those products he puts out.

All,

Thanks for your reply's - Tigg I will look at it... When I saw the need for the serial number I went no further... I am really Excited about the AMS product - does wonderful things... especially..... went to the url -:yes http://www.amsuser.com/amsprojects.html - this has tons of cool stuff - trying to learn all this... Hey Tigg - can your QE Installer set things up so the results of a quiz are sent to an email address or stored in a database?

John

yes it can. The main thing that the QuizEnigne does is to integrate a quiz into an existing project. On the last page you are presented with a variable that contains the score as well as how the user answered each question. While the ability is not there upon integration you could easily set up an e-mail or database to store this information.

Tigg,

Excellent! This sound like it will work welll.... I would need to find out how to integrate the results data ionto either a data base or email... this is a must... let me explain.... . I am integrating into the training department of my company and we are undergoing a drastic changes in procedures - IE: Paperless Environment. I have been assigned the duty of taking the company training manuals (100's) and converting them into CBT programs - using a tool such as Demoshield / AutoPlay.

I already produced a CBT using the Demoshield product which no longer has support for it users and I have already developed a Pre-Stage version of the training environment in Demoshield - yet the quiz or testing portion of the demo is not user friendly and I thus started looking for alternatives - thus comes AutoPlay. I am really pleased with AutoPlay's capabilities.... Thus the need to send the results data of each employee tested.

John

It should be straight forward to get the results you want. I know that others have built CBTs for various industries with the QuizEngine and have integrated some pretty cool extras around it. For instance one person has built the capability to track each user and where they are in the CBT as well as in the Quiz. It was important that these users be allowed to stop in the middle of a quiz and have it keep their place because they test takers job is a fireman.

AMS has a lot of functionality and I think that you will like it. The QuizEngine was my way to try and help out the community with a way to easily integrate a quiz into an AMS project. I helped make this when AMS was in version 4.0 for Bruce on the forums here. And from there I turned it into an installer that will work with AMS 5 and 6.

One of the things I wanted to incorporate into the quiz was the ability to make a different quiz everytime you took the quiz. Something that would really test your knowledge of the subject. I spent over 10 years in Technical Training and wanted to start building CBT based courses as an extra revenue stream at work as well as to help me stop travelling as much as I was.

If you have questions just let me know either here (PM or as a post) or via e-mail from my web site. The Demo of the product is rather short but shows the capability of a random quiz. The questions and their answers are presented in a random order every time you take the test. There is a quiz Builder with the product as well that allows you to enter your questions and up to 4 answers. I have plans for version 2.0 (which will be a free upgrade for all users) to simplify the test building and provide a few more options, mainly multiple selection and a Learning point.

Tigg,

I will definately look it over..... suggestions on how to capture the data would be really appreciated... not to slick at the code part of things yet!

By the way, when I use your product to produce the Quiz, I am able to modify or adjust the backgrounds to whatever images and colors I wish?

John

Yes you are. The integration process asks you if you want to inherit the background of another page otherwise it puts the page in with a blank background.
