Just thought I'd show you some previous posts on the subject. We were able to do this. We also wrote every step down and included some cool generic flash files with instructions to help other producers like yourself. Hi,

I just read your post, and quickly read your add links.

It does seem a little complicated, but I will work on it.

What I'm triyng to do is very simple:

One video file that could be either MPEG1 or MPEG2.

I just want it to auto run on PC with Windows Media Player, and on Mac, with Quick Time.

I am PC based, so my Mac knowledge is very limited.

Could you help with my "simpler" task?

Consider Mac an infertile ground for autostarting anything (except for audio CDs inside iTunes).

In OS 9, most Mac users have disabled the autostart feature in QuickTime's control panel because it was the most exploited method used by viruses to access a Mac system.

In OS X, it's currently not even possible at all, due to remaining security issues.

So, IMHO, forget about autostarting a Mac CD-ROM.

The way I'm deciding to work around this problem, is simply to burn my MPEG1 file to CD, and user will open with just about all softwares available.
