Why are default sounds for images implemented?

This is more of an annoyance than anything else. I find myself turning sounds for images off or changing them anyway much more often than I find myself leaving them alone.

Is there some kind of evidence that shows that most images used in most AMS projects act as buttons? It starts to bug me after I implement a buch of images on a given page that don't act as buttons. The default sounds indicate to me, at least, that the image is a button.

Anyone else with me on this?

Eric, if you have a bunch of Image Objects that have that you don't want the sounds on for. Set up your object the way you want it, then instead of adding a new image, copy and paste the one you already have set up. Then all you have to do is change the image. It's a time saver.

Right, Worm. I've done that loads of times before, and it often is helpful. The only problem is, then you carry along all your action scripts and various other elements as well, sort of defeating the whole purpose.

Corey's suggestion was precisely what I was after. I don't know why I haven't delved as deeply into prefs in AMS as I have in my other software. Hmmm....
