Questions about SF for Windows Installer:

Note: I have not taking much time to read the product details, which as most know from my own posting in the AMS 5 and 6 area I do. But, this will help me keep my mind from frying and make sure I get an accurate accounting of these details.

Questions asked by my employer:

1) Can this product work on Vista (don't laugh yet, ;-))
2) Is VB scripting used at all in this product. (have seen issues with another installer with regards to vbscript.dll)
3) And how many languages are supported (localization issue, as we sell state-side in the U.S. and overseas, the world over)

Thanks,

Brett

Intrigued,

In answer to your questions:

1) Yes - both the design environment and the installers created work great on Vista.

2) It can be used, but is not used in your installers by default. VBScript is available as a custom action if one should want to use it.

3) The product can support multiple languages. However, only one language per setup. You can design setups for multiple languages in the design environment and then at build-time choose than laguage that you want to use. The product currently only ships with English, but more translations will be added in the coming weeks.

Thanks Brett. I would have like to have helped with the Beta of this product, but I'm neck-deep learning some new technologies. I do appreciate the help and support you folks give, that goes without saying.
