View Full Version : AutoMenu button works -- and then doesn't...

I've got a puzzler...

My AutoMenu properly launches all files/apps in XP. When I test in Vista the same AutoMenu properly launches some .exes and a .txt and a .mov but fails to trigger several installer .exes created in SetupFactory. I get no error message...nothing happens.

On the same Vista environment if I manually launch those same SetUp Factory .exes they open and run their routines perfectly.

In summary this is the 'math' that for some reason goes astray on playback:
An authored Automenu on Vista + run.file + an installer .exe (created w/setupfactory) = no launch and no error.

Thoughts anyone?

Hi portlandscreen,

First make sure you're using the latest build of AMS60 which is 6.0.5.0. This version contains Vista support that you'll want. You can see which version you're using by going to Help > About. If you need to update, you can then go to Help > Check for Update.

One thing you'll want to do if you haven't already is read the Running on Windows Vista (http://www.indigorose.com/webhelp/ams60/Introduction/Running_On_Windows_Vista.htm) topic in the command reference.

What you're experiencing is likely caused by the manifest of the AutoPlay application, or the action you are using to launch the setup. This type of information is discussed in that topic mentioned above. Let us know if you have any questions after giving it a read.
