I have to go there next week for business. Just curious if anyone from IR lived/worked in Montreal.

Nope, not right now, or ever, as far as I know.
My wife is actually going to be in Montreal for a conference this week, I wish I was going...zut alors!

I've never lived there, but have visited several times. Montreal is one of my favorite cities. Unless you speak French, I highly recommend that you stay on the "east" side of Boulevard-St Laurent (actually south east on a map (http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=wl&q=)). The west side is traditionally the French speaking (http://www.travelotica.com/travelguide/49317/canada/quebec/montreal/boulevard-st-laurent-49399.htm) side of the city and is claimed by many to be less than hospitable toward English speaking and/or American visitors.
happy travels!

At one point it was also less hospitable to french speakers who don't speak the "right" kind of french, heh. :) Or so I heard from some classmates who visited there back in the day. (Mind you they were definitely troublemakers so who knows how accurate their reporting was...)

My trip was cancelled anyway. made and the last minute cancelled at the last minute. Aside from that I will have to go to Canada within the next month for work. It might be Montreal or Toronto.
