General Install Path Recommendation?

This isn't necessarily a SUF issue, but a general installation question and some of those in this forum appear to have a lot of experience. Is there a recommended file path for the installation of programs in which all the files need to reside in the same folder, and the files need to be available to all users. I currently put everything into the 'Program Files' directory, but am realizing that this is probably not the best action to take especially with how some permissions are being handled.

All advice/recommendation greatly appreciated.

about how to set folder permissions, you may give 'Full control' to 'Everyone' for \Program Files\YourApp\ folder.

I haven't tested this on Vista yet, if you do please post your experience.
