I am working remotely this week, and using desktop sharing (Windows RDP) to run my system back in the office. I am trying to start APMS, but when I double-click the shortcut icon for APMS (either on the desktop or start menu) or try to launch a .AMS file, the splash screen appears, but goes no farther. Windows task manager says the program is not responding. Are there issues running the software via RDP? I have an entry in the application event log that shows that I had to end the app via hungapp.exe, but nothing more informative that that. How can I troubleshoot this?
I've never run AMS with RD, but I do very often with RAdmin, and Huey. With either of those two apps, I've nver had any issues.

I just ran AMS thru my LAN using RDP and it worked OK. I hadn't upgraded to 05 on that machine and it opened and ran the auto update just fine.

Well, I'm back in the office, I started APMS via start menu shortcut and it started right up. Don't know why it wouldn't start via RDP. Sort of sucks, I guess; I can't think of any obvious technical reasons why it wouldn't work via RDP; one less thing I'll be able to do remotely, though.
Harumph....

If you use multiple monitors at work, try disabling the secondary one and try it again.

AMS will work with RDP.
To make it work open the RDP file before connecting to the remote system and then look under the "Local Resources" tab. There you will find the "Remote computer sound" tab. Set that setting to "Leave at remote computer".
Now it should work.
It took me a while to figure it out but persistence paid off.
Hope this helps.

Thanks mwreyf1! I was having the same problem. Once I did as you described, it solved the issue!
