Editing A File Online

ie i will suplpy my ftp details, and i will need to edit a php file??

Well you can not use FTP to edit files online, AFAIK.
You should download it, edit it and then upload it.

just go and search for the notpad alike app and give it the possibility to upload and download to your ftp

Well then hardcode the uploading and downloading process in the application.
