I have eight pdf documents on a CD to be opened from an Auto Max menu. It works great when I try it, but when I burned and tried on another computer, only two of the pdfs will open properly. They are pdf files of text. When I try to open any of the other six files (which are images of web pages captured as pdfs), I get the following error message:

The following file does not exist: \AutoPlay\Docs\the pdf file name.pdf

However when I look on the CD outside of AutoPlay, the files are there and I can open them as pdfs.

Any ideas of what the problem is???

THANKS!!!!

Hi farmer,

Something you will want to check is the filenames of your PDF files. Check the exact filenames on the CD-ROM and then check the filename in the object's properties that opens that file. Does it match exactly? Its good practice to keep your filenames short and eliminate spaces because having really long filenames can occasionally cause the filenames to be shortened by burning software. If you happened to change the name of a file, also make sure you rebrowse for it within AutoPlay as well to make sure it has been updated.

That would be the first thing I would check.

Let us know.

It worked!!!
Thanks!!!
I shortened some very long multi-word file names down to one word and the .pdf extension, and now the burned CD now works great! All the documents open from the menu!
Thanks Darryl!!

Hi farmer,

I'm happy to hear that was the cause of the problem and so easy to resolve. Good luck in the rest of your development.
