I tested a very crazy thing:

I created an installation with nearly 44.000 files and a size of 6,8GB (uncompressed on hard disk drive). :cool
The files were a lot of maps, materials and models for a game. (i think they are not copyright protected) :p

After the building process of 2 or 3 hours the installation routine was about 4,7GB
WinRAR SFX -> 3,3GB but no advanced features :-(

Tooooooo big for an DVD-Rom!

So i complain about the bad compress method!

Is it possible to add some more like Uharc, rar, ace, lza, 7-zip???

Please! please! please!

everything comes at a price.
The better the compression ratio, the more it takes to decompress.

You may pack the files into a single .rar, .7z or another archive, and include this archive in your setup to save space. But then you should unpack them before the installation starts - which may take hours for big compressed files, especially on old machines.

Another disadvantage of including already compressed files in your setup is that the user performing the installation should have more free space available
- at least 1 x [archive decompressed size] more, which is something to consider for huge installations taking place on old PC's

Why don't you just pack your setup into a selfextracting RAR file? I do that with all my setups and it works just fine. Saves between 15% to 25% compared to the original setup file ...
