I'm looking to stick a couple of cameras on the outside of the World Headquarters (aka "the new garage"). I'm not looking for some super-expensive pro system. What I'm hoping to find are some *cheap* cameras I can hook into a video capture board or USB. Any suggestions?

Try http://www.x10.com
I morally refuse to shop with X10. Any site that has dorky pop ups...well... Not to mention their history.

I have x10 stuff throughout my house. The home automation stuff is really nice. The cameras (wireless) ones, however, make for interesting geek time. They're 2.4 GHz and don't play real nice with a wireless network.

Also, don't do the Flood Cams. The motion sensor on them is so sensitive that the moths the lights attract will keep your lights on nice and bright all night long :) I had to bypass the motion sensor in the flood, and use another that was position further away.

Radio Shack sells basically the same thing. They're automation systems are x10 compatible. I'd purchase one there before I did X10.com, its not as difficult to return :)

I haven't seen an x10 popup in about 3 years :wow (let alone an outside ad) Someone's holding a grudge.

On the serious side, I've used the x10 products and highly recommend them. As Worm said, they're sensors work 'too well' at times.

I've been looking at stuff from here: http://www.smarthome.com/

I haven't decided yet what to get. My old USB based system is getting outdated.
