It was hot yesterday here in the land of 10,000 lakes (and 10K * 10 zillion mosquitoes). The Dot and I slaved all weekend getting the backyard ready for the concrete slab of the new garage (whose design passed the Ramsey Hill Historical Committee!!!). I got home and turned on the AC. It was 95F. It deserved AC. Being a Good Person I only turned the temperature down to 75.

** time passes **

Boy, it sure is taking a LONG time to cool off! I can feel some cool air coming out of the vent... oh well...thermal momentum and all. Time for bed.

** next morning **

Man, it sure didn't cool off. I hope the AC hasn't crapped out on me. On the way out the basement door to pick up the newspaper I noticed the furnace was kind of loud. Louder than the fan should have been. Loud like TURNED ON. I popped the front AND THE FLAMES WERE ON. I whacked my head ala Homer Simpson and went into the office. That's got a seperate themostat. *sigh* While the upstairs controller was set at 75 and COOL, the bottom one was set at 85 and HEAT. So, all night long the AC was trying to cool, and the HEATER kept saying "WOooooo... HEAT HEAT HEAT...". I've now turned off the bottom thermostat. Amazing. The house cooled off in about a half hour.

I am such a dork!

I feel your pain....when it gets over 70degrees faranh. here I crank the AC...every summer seems to get warmer. In fact I have to install an AC unit in my studio now cuz with the many electronics and anything over 70 the PC's starting making grunting noises.

It's 89° F - 32° C here in abu dhabi. It's not only hot, but humid as well.
The weather is ugly here these days..especially in the morning :wow

Reminds me of an old quotation...

For my birthday I got a humidifier and a de-humidifier...I put them in the same
room and let them fight it out. -- Steven Wright:wow
