I'm trying to get DVD to play with the media plugin but I can't seem to get it to play?
I have a lot of codecs install so don't think it is that.
I have it showing the VOB files so I can find them in a search but they won't play.

I think you need DVD playing software to play DVDs, i.e. PowerDVD, etc. I might be wrong.

The end user must have the DVD software/plugin installed though, i.e. X-pack or PowerDVD SE, etc.:

Media Player 10 is the only version that will play DVD's from a disc. You can download the update and choose custom install. That will show you what codecs WMP 10 is installing. But, as Corey says, the users would have to have version 10 installed.
Maybe another way would be to get the free player VLC Media Player (a new update recently by the way) and include it in your project. It can be told to load a disc in a command line and it doesn't need an install (standalone)

Oh this is for me here. I want to have it on the two computers and the files on my little home server and then play the dvds from file. I guess I can convert them to divx and just do it that way.
Thanks for the help guys.

WMP won't use the powerdvd player installed codec.
However, if you get Cyberlinks (PowerDVD), NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder,Intervideo and some of the other "pay for me" codecs, they will be installed as system codecs, not as player specific codecs and WMP can use them.
But, they have to be installed on the system to be used.
I know VLC is a seperate player, but unless IR wants to drop a scoop load of $'s to license one of the big decoders, I think it's one of the few games in town for DVD video.
Well I was wrong (behind the curve again), go Here (http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2001/oct01/10-22RippingPR.mspx) to get WMP DVD playback for $10.00.
