We use this as a discussion in training to show people that they can't always trust what their eyes show them. The usually preceeds a discussion on retraining your brain to learn new things. It gets worse as you get older. One of the common ones we will use along the same lines is this.

If you wear a watch cover it now. Without looking describe your watch. Does it have numbers at all 12 places or just markers? Which numbers are represented on the face of the watch.

Colors and details about the watch are often very difficult to recall even though most people look at their watch several times a day. However when you try to recall the specific details about your watch most people cannont do it. Just like the length of a word and the first and last letters.

The mnid wrkos in wundeforl wyas.

So who is going to create an AMS project to automatically convert text from an edit field to text like the above . . .

I'm still trying to figure out the word! "cool"? What is that, Scandinavian? OH I SEE, you switched the two O's so it's actually, "C-O-O-L" now I get it!!! Cool... Very tricky, I was completely blindsided, I'm all like, "What the heck? Cool?" but now I get it, it's "cool"... Hee har...
